Is this a private or public community garden?
This is the Brentwood Community Gardening Group– an activity of the Brentwood Community Association. 
·      the land is owned by the City of Calgary and leased by the Brentwood Community Association
·      the garden is supported by the Brentwood Community Association, the City of Calgary and is completely operated and maintained by community volunteers – the Brentwood Community Gardening Group (BCCG). 

How can I get a garden bed rental?
You may apply to the BCGG to rent a garden bed, and where beds are available, fulfill the following requirements:
·      Be a current member of the Brentwood Community Association;
·      Pay an annual garden rental fee to the BCGG; and
·      Agree to and sign the BCGG Garden Membership Agremeent & Guidelines 

Must I volunteer as a member of the BCGG?
The Brentwood community garden is 100% volunteer driven.  Through the Membership Agreement & Guidelines, BCGG members commit to volunteering activites.  Activites include garden maintenance, garden improvement projects , fundraising and community/garden social activities. 

Are pesticides used in this garden?
This is an ‘organic’ garden. No pesticides are used. No chemical fertilizers are used. 

I am interested in community gardens but don't live in Brentwood...
If you do not live in Brentwood, you may
·      Contact your own Community Association to see if they have a Community Garden, or
·      Visit the City of Calgary webpage to learn more about Community Gardens and how to start a community garden in your own community.
·      Or contact the BCGG as non-Brentwood members are welcome to join our garden subject to availability.

May I buy any of the produce?
Produce is not for sale.  The flowers and produce in the raised beds belong to the individuals/families that rent the garden beds.
Is the Garden open to the public?
Visitors are welcome to enjoy the serene atmosphere, the sights and scents of this lovely garden.  Please don't pick the flowers and produce.

Take a stroll or sit and enjoy the garden.  Eat your lunch and relax.  Please remove all of your garbage and make sure that you close the gate to keep the rabbits out when you leave! Thank you.

Who can cut or pick the flowers and produce?
The produce and flowers in this garden are planted, grown and maintained by the members of the BCGG.  Only BCGG members may harvest the produce and flowers.
